Turn your eyes upon Jesus...




My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

The mountains remind me of how big Our God is.

Most mornings (unless the clouds are obscuring my view), as I sit and have my quiet time, I can gaze out at Pikes Peak and remember... my help comes from the LORD. It is a daily, tangible reminder for me.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
It is my opinion that we all need something that can re-anchor our souls into Him when life goes sideways.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
What is your focal point for re-anchoring? Where is the place you go to? What do you read? Is there a song that you sing?

What helps you look back into the eyes of your Savior instead of the storms of life raging around you?
▪︎▪︎▪︎
My challenge to you is this: if you don't have that thing - establish it. If you do have it - make sure you are using it! 
▪︎▪︎▪︎ 
Shifting our focus back to Him doesn't calm the storm around us, but it DOES calm the storm within us!

VULNERABLE: Capable of being physically or emotionally wounded; open to attack or damage.  Unguarded | Open. Some say you can't truly live unless you live at the heart of vulnerability; that when you do you become fully alive; that if you don't you live in a place of shut down emotions. I wonder... In this world you will have trouble...

What an encouraging thought!  Right?!?!?!? It is, however, a true story. Looking back over my life shows that I've had my fair share, and I'm transparent enough so that everyone knows when I'm in the midst of it!  I cannot tell you the number of times I've been told (usually, but not always , by friends who are done with my level of trouble - or drama...however you choose to see it) that it is "always something with me"; each time I've heard it I've wanted to apologize - but for what?  Most things that happen are outside of my control.  Do I apologize for living??? That is, essentially, what I'd be doing, and I won't go there.  I've come to accept my life as it is, and be thankful that it is NEVER boring! :-) So, yes, it is (or seems to be) "always something with me", BUT over the last few weeks I've come to realize a few things: 1) Everyone has trouble - it's not just me (or you).  Some others are just WAY better a

Laying Down My Rights...

This is a tough one for us in the western world - especially America.  I was raised in the Deep South where God and Country went hand-in-hand. The teaching from early on was, "Stand up for your rights because if you don't they will be stripped away!".  There is truth in that, but are God and country supposed to go hand in hand? Are my rights supposed to be as important to me as following Jesus. I don't think so. (I can already hear the groans, but please stick with me.) As a Christ-follower, I'm supposed to look like Him. Jesus didn't "stand up for His rights" He stood up for the kingdom - that involved laying everything down. My husband and I had a conversation on this recently, and it rings in my head every time my rights demand a say in what is going on.
