Entering my mind...

My brain is NOT a fun place to live - at times.  It runs 90 miles an hour all the time, and everything interlocks together.  So, in order to let our some of the mayhem, I've decided to write a blog.  Share my thoughts, inspirations, revelations,etc with you.  Enjoy!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus...

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.  ▪︎▪︎▪︎ The mountains remind me of how big Our God is. ▪︎▪︎▪︎ Most mornings (unless the clouds are obscuring my view), as I sit and have my quiet time, I can gaze out at Pikes Peak and remember... my help comes from the LORD. It is a daily, tangible reminder for me. ▪︎▪︎▪︎ It is my opinion that we all need something that can re-anchor our souls into Him when life goes sideways. ▪︎▪︎▪︎ What is your focal point for re-anchoring? Where is the place you go to? What do you read? Is there a song that you sing?  ▪︎▪︎▪︎ What helps you look back into the eyes of your Savior instead of the storms of life raging around you? ▪︎▪︎▪︎ My challenge to you is this: if you don't have that thing - establish it. If you do have it - make sure you are using it!  ▪︎▪︎▪︎  Shifting our focus back to Him doesn't calm the storm around us, but it DOES calm the storm within us!

The Shack...again (my two cents worth)

Since posting my last blog about how God used a FICTIONAL story to speak into my life something I needed to hear (He is God, afterall, and can do as He pleases. He even used a donkey once to get the attention of someone - allowed the donkey to speak, He did), I've been seeing a lot and hearing a lot about how the book is heretical.  So we are all clear, heresy is defined as: belief or opinion contrary (in this case) to Christian doctrine (doctrine is a set of beliefs heard and taught by a church). Doctrine is where the water gets a little (or a lot) muddy.  This is because there are A LOT of doctrines floating around.  As a matter of fact each denomination, while it may be evangelical, has its own set of doctrines - much of the time the doctrines are the same on "what really counts", but there are differences none the less. This is why it is absolutely essential to KNOW what GOD'S WORD says, so you aren't taking someone else's word for His Word. I've read ...

I agree BUT also disagree...sortof

I have seen the above picture posted on Facebook; it's gone through my newsfeed, from one friend or another, at least a half dozen times over the last 6 months or so.  Every time I see it I cringe a bit.  The Church, in many ways, has developed for itself a BAD reputation.  Whether its protesting abortions, the Qur'an, or homosexuality.  The Church, or more specifically those in the church...Christians...those who align themselves with God (and call Jesus Savior), hurt people!  Now, before some of you start defending Believers, don't hear what I'm not saying.  I'm NOT saying every believer does this.  I do my best not to.  What I AM saying is this... The worst man-inflicted hurts I have received have come from my "fellow brothers and sisters in Christ".  This should NOT be the case, but sadly it is.  The Church should be a hospital for spiritual healing, and Believers should be the care-givers who facilitate that healing - extendin...
