Entering my mind...

My brain is NOT a fun place to live - at times.  It runs 90 miles an hour all the time, and everything interlocks together.  So, in order to let our some of the mayhem, I've decided to write a blog.  Share my thoughts, inspirations, revelations,etc with you.  Enjoy!

To Be or Not To Be...VULNERABLE

VULNERABLE: Capable of being physically or emotionally wounded; open to attack or damage.  Unguarded | Open. Some say you can't truly live unless you live at the heart of vulnerability; that when you do you become fully alive; that if you don't you live in a place of shut down emotions. I wonder... I'm processing this today because recently one of my deepest rooted insecurities was hit right in the heart. When this happens I go into full on awareness, protective mode. My armor goes on and I hide behind my walls. This particular insecurity has been a part of me since I was a little girl.  I have learned, over the years to master it - instead of it mastering me - but there are days (sometimes weeks) when it does its best to get the better of me. In this world you will have trouble...

What an encouraging thought!  Right?!?!?!? It is, however, a true story. Looking back over my life shows that I've had my fair share, and I'm transparent enough so that everyone knows when I'm in the midst of it!  I cannot tell you the number of times I've been told (usually, but not always , by friends who are done with my level of trouble - or drama...however you choose to see it) that it is "always something with me"; each time I've heard it I've wanted to apologize - but for what?  Most things that happen are outside of my control.  Do I apologize for living??? That is, essentially, what I'd be doing, and I won't go there.  I've come to accept my life as it is, and be thankful that it is NEVER boring! :-) So, yes, it is (or seems to be) "always something with me", BUT over the last few weeks I've come to realize a few things: 1) Everyone has trouble - it's not just me (or you).  Some others are just WAY better a

Laying Down My Rights...

This is a tough one for us in the western world - especially America.  I was raised in the Deep South where God and Country went hand-in-hand. The teaching from early on was, "Stand up for your rights because if you don't they will be stripped away!".  There is truth in that, but are God and country supposed to go hand in hand? Are my rights supposed to be as important to me as following Jesus. I don't think so. (I can already hear the groans, but please stick with me.) As a Christ-follower, I'm supposed to look like Him. Jesus didn't "stand up for His rights" He stood up for the kingdom - that involved laying everything down. My husband and I had a conversation on this recently, and it rings in my head every time my rights demand a say in what is going on.
